Searlait is a Northern Rivers based writer living on the outskirts of the flood town of Lismore. She is currently working on her first novel, a Black Summer fiction, the basis of her PhD in fragment writing for disaster.
Her writing is usually autofictive, exploring the interconnections within memory, interior and external worlds, reality, identity and trauma. Searlait’s writing is developed through environmental markers that celebrate intimacy between humans, themselves and nature.
She takes creative, editorial and photographic commissions on a limited basis, by enquiry.
Searlait works professionally in writing, research, editing, creative development and photography.
