‘Black Summer’ is my PhD project and ongoing body of work exploring the impact of the 2019-2020 megafires on myself and my community. I am working through a blended autofiction style and writing fragment pieces, an attempt to express the subjectivity of my view and understand the function of silence and ambiguity in disaster. This project includes an ongoing analogue photographic conversation with places interrupted by fire and smoke.
